KUALA LUMPUR (March 26): Avaland Bhd topped out its fully sold Aetas Damansara condominium development located at Persiaran Tropicana, Selangor on Tuesday. 

In a press statement, Avaland said the development is targeted for vacant possession (VP) in 1Q2025, which is about six months ahead of schedule from its initial expected completion date in 2Q2025.

KUALA LUMPUR (July 8): Formerly known as MCT Bhd, the company has rebranded itself as Avaland Bhd after unveiling its new corporate image last night. 

A subsidiary of Ayala Land Inc which bought a majority stake in the company in 2018, Avaland has since undergone a comprehensive organisational restructuring exercise and refocused its core business on property development.

Speaking at the press conference, Teh Heng Chong, chief executive officer of Avaland said that they went through 200 names before deciding on Avaland as the new name. 

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 22): MCT Bhd has entered into an agreement to acquire 4.02 acres of leasehold commercial land in Bangi, Selangor for a total purchase consideration of RM31.5 million.

KUALA LUMPUR (March 4): MCT Bhd announced today Apollo Bello Tanco's redesignation as executive director and appointment as chief operating officer of the property developer.

In separate statements to Bursa Malaysia today, MCT also announced Susan Jacob Secreto's appointment as chief financial officer.

The group said the appointments and redesignation are effective today. Tanco was redesignated to executive director from non-executive director of the group.

KUALA LUMPUR (April 13): MCT Bhd plans to build some 1,400 serviced apartments on a 9.13 acre plot of land in the district of Petaling, acquired for RM143 million cash from Tropicana Corporation Bhd.

In a bourse filing today, MCT said its wholly-owned unit Next Delta Sdn Bhd had signed a conditional sale and purchase agreement with Tropicana’s unit, Tropicana Metropark Sdn Bhd, for the freehold plot — formed of two contiguous parcels of land in Pekan Country Height.

The land has a permitted plot ratio of 1:4 and it has been issued a master development order approval.
