KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 22): Avaland Bhd (formerly MCT Bhd) launched the second phase of its Casa Embun project at its 417-acre Cybersouth township development in Dengkil, Selangor, on Jan 13. The recent launch follows the success of Casa Embun Phase 1, which has achieved a take-up rate of more than 85% since it was launched in January 2022, according to a statement dated Jan 16.

The statement added that the launch event, which was held at the Cybersouth Sales Village and in conjunction with the Cybersouth Carnival organised by Avaland, saw over 300 attendees.

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 14): Bursa Malaysia Bhd on Thursday announced 11 new additions to the constituents of the FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia (F4GBM) Index and 11 new additions to the constituents of the FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia Shariah (F4GBMS) Index following the latest semi-annual review of the indices.

In a statement on Thursday, the bourse said that the F4GBM Index includes public-listed companies (PLCs) with good liquidity and strong environmental, social, and governance practices.

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 1): Property developer Avaland Bhd (formerly known as MCT Bhd) has redesignated its non-independent non-executive director Apollo Bello Tanco as the group’s executive director (ED) and chief executive officer effective Jan 1, 2024.

He succeeded Teh Heng Chong, who has resigned to pursue his personal interest. Teh was appointed to the board as the ED and CEO in March 2019.

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 3): Avaland Bhd's Casa Embun apartment development in its 417-acre (168.75-hectare) Cybersouth township in Dengkil saw its first phase 70% taken up since the launch in January, according to a press statement on Friday.

Avaland was formerly known as MCT Bhd.

With a gross development value of RM186 million, the first phase of 21-storey Casa Embun comprises 482 apartment units, with built-ups ranging from 550 to 1,541 sq ft and selling prices starting from RM250,000.

PETALING JAYA (Sept 7): Avaland Bhd, previously known as MCT Bhd, has launched its Sustainability Roadmap to reinforce its commitment to integrate sustainable and eco-friendly features in all projects to benefit its customers.

At the launch event of the Sustainability Roadmap on Thursday, its chief operating officer Aw Sei Cheh noted that sustainability has been prioritised to fulfill the company’s mission in creating communities and enhancing lives for generations.

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 30): Avaland Bhd’s RM145 million Casa Bayu residential development located in its over 400-acre Cybersouth township has achieved a take-up rate of 95%, according to a press statement on Wednesday.

Avaland Bhd, an Ayala Land company, is the new name of the former MCT Bhd. The transformation journey has taken several years but after much planning and preparation, the rebrand has finally been revealed to the public.

The journey began in 2015, when Ayala Land — one of the largest real estate developers in the Philippines — came to Malaysia to do a market study, says Avaland CEO Teh Heng Chong.

KUALA LUMPUR (May 25): MCT Bhd returned to profitability in the first quarter ended March 31, 2023 (1QFY2023) with net profit RM136,000, versus net loss RM12.19 million a year earlier, on the back of higher property sales.

In a bourse filing on Wednesday (May 24), the developer said revenue for the quarter jumped by almost twofold to RM76.6 million, from RM38.6 million.

Earnings per share was 0.01 sen, versus loss per share of 0.84 sen previously.
